Alberox, through their Proform division provides "ST" Series fiber
optic connectors for extreme applications. Designed to provide superior
reliability and durability, these components feature Alberox's innovative
Metal Injection Molding (MIM) technology. Utilizing its application
engineering expertise, Alberox cost-effectively manufactures these
components to meet the specific needs of the telecommunications
market.
Designed with durability in mind for extreme applications, Alberox's
fiber optic connectors are Metal Injection Molded using 17-4PH,
304L or 316L stainless steel. This MIM process produces components
that have a higher strength than zinc die-casting and offer superior
corrosion resistance. Also able to withstand extreme heat or cold
better than zinc, the "ST" series is well suited for rugged conditions,
meeting all military standards for "ST" Connectors.
The MIM process produces components to the customer's specification
at a lower total cost. Metal Injection Molded components require
virtually no additional machining, and several components can be
molded together as one unit. Also, molds can be created that contain
multiple cavities to reduce tooling costs.
